SERVING TANKS / BRIGHT BEER TANKS – preparing beer for consumption and distribution

Vertical serving tanks/bright beer tanks , insulated , double-jacked , cooled by glycol or water

After completion of the maturation phase of production in maturation tanks or cylindrical-conical tanks ( depending on the selected fermentation technology ) the beer is tapped into theserving tanks. Serving tanks, also calledbright beer tanks, are vessels structurally identical tomaturation tanks.

Their typical feature is thecertification for pressure 3.0 bar, since for their main function, which isfilling the transport packaging( kegs, bottles ) andtapping beer( in the adjacent restaurant ), it is necessary to keep beer under a higher pressure than is used in maturation tanks.

Serving tanks / Bright beer tanksthat are manufactured and supplied for our breweries with the same construction as the maturation tanks. It means that any maturation tank can also be used as a serving and vice versa. This solution simplifies and accelerates the process of beer production because it is not necessary to pump the beer from storage tank to serving tank just simply by increasing the pressure in the maturation tank we can change its function in a few seconds without other interventions.

Function of the bright beer tankis gaining its importance especially in breweries, from which the beer is filtered and subsequently distributed in bottles and transport in barrels to other restaurants or sale networks . After completion of maturation , the beer is filtered and subsequently tapped into serving tanks.

In serving tank is the beer left to calm down, for several hours or days, without further intervention. After increasing pressure is the beer from the serving tank subsequently tapped into transport containers with contra-pressure, to avoid the loss of the carbon dioxide from the beverage.

Serving tanks with double-jacket

Besides the apparent disadvantage of the higher initial cost, these tanks have only advantages: low cost of operation of cooling (cooling only beer, not space), modesty at the place of installation (no need to insulate storage cellar, tanks can be in any room), comfortable operation (in the area with tanks the temperature may be normal), possibility to control maturation in each tank separately. The only suitable solution for automated management system of the brewery.

Serving tanks vertical

Tanks in the brewery are “standing”. Easy for cleaning and sanitation and easy access to the tanks from all sides.
The disadvantage is the space requirement of beer cellar and its height. Vertical maturation tanks are standard in breweries and this concept is preferred where small space has not fundamental limitations.
